The Public Relations Executive Role

As an account executive at AstroAgency, you will play a vital part in our dynamic, diverse team, supporting impactful communications in the global space sector. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally while working closely alongside high-profile industry leaders, clients, agencies, and media partners.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal role in handling many of the day-to-day activities for the public relations team, including working with senior members of the team to help oversee projects, connecting across our sector team leads, and providing client counsel. 
  • Be flexible and facilitate teamwork; coordinate team resources and create opportunities for junior staff to take on more responsibility; fully utilise agency resources to deliver industry-leading work for your clients. 
  • Demonstrate ability to develop high-quality written materials, including pitch letters, media materials, social copy, client correspondence, etc. 
  • Support in the implementation of strategic plans and communications campaigns across key stakeholders that are aligned with client business objectives and deliver results. 
  • Develop relationships and coordinate correspondence with external audiences: third-party organisations, space professionals, media, etc. 
  • Develop internal and client-facing recaps and reports showcasing our work and reinforcing opportunities to grow future engagements. 

Qualifications

  • Experience preferred but not essential from tech, space or general corporate communications within a communications agency or in-house team.
  • A thirst for knowledge, interest and desire to work in the ever-changing world of  space and communications. 
  • Skilled at applied strategic thinking; anticipating issues, trends, and connections, and translating those insights into actionable ideas for the client and the agency. 
  • A collaborative team member, with strong project management and problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to communicate technical data and information into lay language that resonates across client stakeholders. 
  • Keen understanding of the role of digital media in integrated communications strategies as well as traditional, digital and social media space environments. 
  • Ability to contribute to strategic outreach plans to external audiences via social platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), third-party organisations, space professionals, media and influencers. 
  • Ability to effectively supervise and train interns or junior-level account staff, provide quality control, determine workflow and assignments. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to develop press materials and communications plans. 
  • Interest in developing strong media pitch angles and pitch story ideas to reporters. 
  • Strong client relationship skills and the ability to successfully represent AstroAgency and client companies to key stakeholders.
