AstroAgency’s Daria Filichkina invited by the European Space Agency to present the second session in the Sustainability Talks series, focused on translating space sustainability commitments into demonstrable action – Dec 25’

AstroAgency presented to the signatories of ESA’s Statement for A Responsible Space Sector during the most recent Sustainability Talks session, addressing one of the space industry’s most pressing challenges: how companies can move beyond sustainability pledges and demonstrate tangible responsible operations.

As the first UK company to sign the Statement with Director General Dr. Josef Aschbacher during World Space Business Week Paris (2023), AstroAgency has since collaborated closely with ESA to host signing sessions for industry and academia and is focused on moving the initative into a fully industry-led movement.

AstroAgency COO Daria Filichkina delivered the presentation “From Making Commitments to Demonstrating Action,” providing practical frameworks for space companies seeking to showcase their ethical operations and integrate responsible space principles into daily activities.

As the space industry experiences unprecedented growth, sustainability commitments have become commonplace across orbital operations, manufacturing, and supply chain management. However, many companies struggle to translate these pledges into demonstrable actions and effective communications strategies.

“Space companies face a critical perception gap between their sustainability commitments and actual implementation,” said Filichkina. “Without clear communication approaches that showcase tangible efforts, the industry risks undermining trust in its commitment to responsible operations.”

Daria’s presentation equipped attendees with actionable guidance on integrating responsible space principles into company operations, moving the conversation from aspirational statements to evidence-based action communication.

AstroAgency has been proud to collaborate with ESA’s Sustainability team in driving organisations toward a safer, more sustainable space environment for current and future generations. This partnership reflects our commitment to advancing responsible space operations across the global industry.

The invitation to present at ESA’s Sustainability Talks series reinforces AstroAgency’s thought leadership role in space sustainability communications and our ongoing work supporting responsible space operations across government agencies and commercial space companies worldwide.
